Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology
The application deadline for the Ph.D. program in Counseling Psychology is December 1, 2017. All application materials must be submitted to the Graduate School prior to the final application deadline to be reviewed for admission in the Fall Semester 2018.
The Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program is organized around two central training goals:
- To prepare entry levelcounseling psychologists who are well-trained and competent in both the practice and science of the profession.
- To prepare counseling psychologists who are leaders in the field, especially as it relates to serving diverse and underserved populations.
Student mastery of these overarching goals is promoted through specific training objectives and assessed through a variety of competency assessment activities.
The Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program is accredited by the American Psychological Association. Our last accreditation review was completed in December 2012 and we earned seven years of accredited status.
