Educational Leadership Higher Education Programs
The UND Educational Leadership graduate programs with a Higher Education emphasis give students a unique opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to function effectively as an educational leader. Individuals who are interested in a career in higher education administration or other education-related areas are encouraged to apply for an Educational Leadership (Higher Education emphasis) degree program. Students are prepared for research and leadership positions in a variety of settings, including:
- Community colleges
- Doctorate-granting universities
- Master’s colleges and universities
- Baccalaureate colleges
- Special focus institutions
- Tribal colleges
- Educational policy and research consortia
- State and federal government entities
The Master of Science (M.S.) program in Educational Leadership is designed for students whose goals are to obtain positions as administrators in higher education. Students who are interested in a career in higher education administration or other education-related areas are encouraged to apply for the M.S. degree program. Upon completion of the M.S. degree, students are better prepared for entry level and mid management positions in educational institutions and agencies.

The Educational Leadership (Higher Education emphasis) doctoral programs (Ph.D. and Ed.D.) prepare students for mid-level and upper administrative positions in academic affairs, student affairs, and state or federal government education. Both programs provide students with the tools they need to perform in the areas of:
- Undergraduate and graduate program administration
- Student support services
- College leadership and planning
