Basic Instructional Program (BIP)
About the BIP
The BIP consists of a variety of class offerings including individual sports such as swimming, boxing, and diving; dual sports like tennis and badminton; team sports including basketball and volleyball; and physical activity classes such as strength training, physical conditioning, and fitness walking. Full and half term classes are offered between 8:00a.m.-3:00p.m. Monday-Thursday.
In addition to providing physical activity opportunities, the BIP is also designed to help university students gain the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that favor lifelong physical activity.
Course Offerings/Enrollment
Currently the BIP offers over 60 different courses. Interested students can go to the online schedule of courses for a listing of all BIP classes offered in a given semester.
BIP Course Fee
A course fee of $60 is required for all PXW 100/BIP classes. This fee provides funding to hire instructors, purchase and maintain equipment, and for administrative costs including funding of the BIP Coordinator. Some BIP courses have additional fees for facility rental (i.e. ice skating, scuba diving). Please see course listings for specific fee amount.
Instructors
BIP classes are taught by NCAA division I coaches, graduate students, and experts from the community to offer students a wide range of basic instructional courses.

Locker rental is available through the Aquatics Office in the Hyslop Sports Center (HSC) Room 251.
Lockers that are available for rent are located on the south side of the HSC on the first and second floors. Call 777-3050 for prices and availability.
The Hyslop Sports Center
