Dr. Richard Riegelman on Public Health Education
Richard Riegelman recently visited campus to assist with a new program initiative in Public Health Education. The initiative is three-dimensional in nature, involving Essential Studies courses in public health, a minor in public health, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education. This initiative is a joint endeavor between the Department of Physical Education, Exercise Science and Wellness (PXW) and the College of Education and Human Development. It is also multi-disciplinary in nature with coursework that will be contributed by a number of departments on campus.For more information please feel free to contact Dennis Caine at 777-4041. Dr. Joshua Guggenheimer

Melissa Olson
Melissa Olson, a PXW graduate was recently featured in the Grand Forks Herald for her outstanding contributions as a skating instructor for Northern Lights Skating Club in East Grand Forks and the Border Blades Skating Club in Grand Forks.
AASP Conference
PXW professor Dr. Sandra Short recently traveled to the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) conference in Salt Lake City and presented studies with colleagues and recent graduate students.
Heidi Evans
Former Fighting Sioux Track and Field athlete Heidi Evans recently obtained her Master's in Kinesiology. She also completed her B.S. degree at UND, while capping off her career as a Division II National Champion in the 1500 meters. The meet was held at Mt. Sac in California. She currently holds the school record in the 1500 meters (4:24.66) and has the third fastest performance for the Sioux in program history in the 800 meters (2.10.71). She is currently an Elementary P.E. Teacher in Thief River Falls and the head volleyball coach.
