I am an assistant professor in the early childhood program area of the Department of Teaching and Learning. Over the past 30 years, I have worked in the field of early childhood education as a teacher, consultant and trainer. I teach courses in early language development, intro to early childhood education, play and development, and curriculum development. My research interests include understanding the experiences of children and young adults diagnosed with ADHD; the impact of personal narrative and storytelling on literacy and language development; early literacy development; and the relationship between play and human development. My research background is in qualitative methodologies.
