Dr. Amy Jacobson earned her M.Ed in Special Education and her Ed.D. in Teacher Education from the University of North Dakota. Prior to UND, she taught students with learning disabilities and emotional disturbances at Grand Forks Central High School and West Fargo High School for 9 years; additionally she worked as a Media Specialist at the elementary level for one academic year.
Her primary areas of interest include assisting secondary students with exceptionalities with the transition process to adult life, including students with exceptionalities into the regular education curriculum, and mentoring teachers new to the field of special education. She currently teaches online courses in addition to supervising resident teachers up and down the Red River Valley as well as working as Director of the Special Education Resident Teacher Program.
