Jo-Anne Yearwood has been an early childhood educator for over 25 years and holds a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. In addition to her teaching responsibilities in the department, Jo-Anne also directs the University Children’s Center (the UND campus childcare facility). This dual role, gives Jo-Anne the opportunity to work with individuals of various ages and diverse backgrounds.
She has presented at several conferences including the International Conference on Young Children with Special Needs and their Families, National Association for the Education of Young Children Conference (NAEYC), the National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators, and the North Dakota Association for the Education of Young Children (NDAEYC) conference. Jo-Anne has also been a featured speaker at two regional conferences and has received training at two national institutes on topics related to the delivery of childcare services, preparation of childcare educators, and the development of state plans/initiatives to address childcare issues.
