Special Education Resident Teacher Program Admissions Information
Application to the Special Education Resident Teacher Program (SERTP) is a three-tiered process.
- Tier 1 is admission to the master's program in special education
- Tier 2 is admission to the SERTP
- Tier 3 is securing a placement in a public school
Tier 1 – Admission to the Master’s Program
All master's admissions materials are due March 1 to the School of Graduate Studies for SERTP candidates. Admission to the master's program in special education is conducted through the School of Graduate Studies. Click on the following link to access the master’s application and prerequisites:
Tier 2 – Admission to the SERTP
The SERTP application must be submitted by March 15 and is conducted through the Special Education Program Area. The application will ask you to upload a brief written statement and a resume including three references. An on-campus interview will be conducted in early April. To apply, click the link below:
This application MUST BE submitted by March 15 regardless if you have been admitted to the master’s program in special education.
Tier 3 – Placements in Public Schools
After admission to the master’s program in special education is approved and admission to the SERTP is approved, the placement process will begin. The admissions process into the SERTP will be finalized if a placement in a public school has been secured. UND faculty are responsible for the placement process.
