Counseling Programs
Build a strong foundation for making a difference in your community.
UND's Counseling programs use a training model anchored in the science of psychology, emphasizing both evidence-based practices and multicultural competence. The Counseling master's degree program program focus on theoretical understanding and includes seminar-style classes and advanced level reading and writing. It also offers opportunities to develop professional practice skills in our on-campus multi-disciplinary clinic and through community-based counseling internships.
In addition to the Counseling masters degree program, UND offers a graduate-level certificate in K-12 School Counseling and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology.
Online vs. On-Campus
Combining a broad theoretical foundation with extensive training in practitioner skills, UND's Counseling master's program offers online (part-time) and on campus (full-time) tracks. No matter which track you choose, you will still gain the same solid educational and research experience that will prepare you for licensure and professional practice or the pursuit of a doctoral degree if you choose. In addition, each track offers four areas of specialization to choose from, depending on your individual needs and goals.
