Sport and Exercise Credit Classes
Sport and Exercise Credit Classes (SECC) consist of a variety of class offerings including individual, dual, and team sports; and physical activity classes.
Full and half term classes are offered between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.
In addition to providing physical activity opportunities, the BIP is also designed to help university students gain the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that favor lifelong physical activity.
Course Offerings/Enrollment
Currently the SECC offers over 60 different courses. Interested students can go to the online schedule of courses for a listing of all SECC classes offered in a given semester.
SECC Course Fee
A course fee of $60 is required for all KIN 100/SECC classes. This fee provides funding to hire instructors, purchase and maintain equipment, and for administrative costs including funding of the SECC Coordinator. Some SECC courses have additional fees for facility rental (i.e. ice skating, scuba diving). Please see course listings for specific fee amount.
Instructors
Sport and Exercise Credit classes are taught by NCAA division I coaches, graduate students, and experts from the community to offer students a wide range of basic instructional courses.
Hyslop Sports Center
The Hyslop Sports Center (HSC) is home to the majority of the classes offered in the Sport and Exercise Credit Classes (SECC). The “Hyslop” provides one basketball court, an Olympic sized pool, sauna, walking track, 2 courts for volleyball, one studio and 4 courts for badminton that are used by the SECC for student programming.
