Participant Guidelines
Poster Presenters
Everyone presenting a poster is asked to please:
- Set up your poster between 9:30am and 10:00am, prior to the start of the first session
of the day.
- If you are not able to set up your poster personally, please try to find someone to set it up on your behalf (advisor, peer); otherwise, reach out to Dr. Robert Stupnisky so that the committee can set it up for you.
- Plan to spend one hour by your poster between 12:15pm and 1:45pm to answer questions
and share information about your work.
- Note, this 90 minute time frame includes 30 minutes for poster presenters to get lunch. You do NOT have to stand by your poster for the entire conference and are encouraged to attend the talks outside the poster session period.
- Take down your poster between 4:00pm and 4:30pm.
- If you cannot be present to take down your poster, please let the committee know; they will keep it at CEHD for a limited time to allow for pickup.
- Poster templates can be created in PowerPoint, which allows a custom slide size of 40 inches wide by 30 inches high (4:3 ratio); see PowerPoint editing guidance for reference.
- Adding a UND logo to your poster is strongly encouraged. Please see the CEHD poster template and CEHD poster example for consideration when making your poster.
- CEHD graduate students who are presenting a research poster at the conference are eligible to apply for funding to cover the cost of printing at the UND Print Center. Note this typically takes 3 days.
Talk Presenters
- Each session will have 3 speakers, who will be asked to present in the order listed in the program.
- Please visit the podium 15 minutes prior to the start of your session to ensure your slideshow is present and working properly.
- We ask each speaker to present for about 15 minutes, then allow about 5 minutes for questions and transitioning to the next speaker. The members of the R&D committee will be “session chairs” keeping time!
- There will be a projector and screen as well as a laptop (PC) available for you. Please email your presentation to the ADRFD no later than the day prior to the conference.
- The sessions will NOT be Zoomed; hopefully, this will lead to having a nice in-person turnout throughout the day to watch!
